God bless you beloved in Jesus Name. The International Christian Rescue Missionary Chaplain (ICRMC) is a Christian paramilitary organisation whose membership is open to Christians from all denominations. Our International Headquarters is located in Lagos, Nigeria.
Our Mission is to be an international institution of learning with the highest standard in preaching and teaching the Word of God (Matthew 28:19–20). We establish and maintain a place for interdenominational worship of the one true God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Our activities span charitable purposes, fostering unity and love, supporting governments, promoting peace, rescuing those in need, training chaplains, and promoting excellence, reverence, discipline and self-respect among members.
As a Christian paramilitary organisation, ICRMC is currently raising Commands across different continents and countries, recruiting officers to fill such commands. We believe strongly that ICRMC can work with churches, ministries, and denominations ready to preach the truth — to depopulate the kingdom of darkness and populate the Kingdom of God. We also extend open hands to individuals, families, organisations, and countries ready to help the needy.
By the grace of God, I previously served with the International Christian School of Chaplaincy / Christian Interdenominational Intervention Chaplain (ICSC/CIIC), rising through various ranks to Major General before honourably resigning under God's leadership. I served as the first Lagos 3 Commandant, sat on several committees, and concluded my service as SSA on Mobilisation/Expansion.
I remain a member of the Nigerian Ex-Servicemen (Nigeria Legionnaire Commission), holding the rank of Captain, and serve as a Patron in the Nigeria Legion All Auxiliary Arms, Lagos State Council Unit 47. I am an honourable member of the Nigerian Navy Officers' Mess, Ogun State.
As a Servant of God, I am an Apostle by calling and by His grace a Chief Apostle. I serve as Spiritual Director of the George Chukwuma John Apostolic Outreach — a non-denominational Evangelical Ministry of Reconciliation and Restoration headquartered in Wasimi, Ogun State — and as General Overseer of Final Exodus Bride Tabernacle, headquartered in Lagos State, Nigeria.
Thanks and remain blessed.

About ICRMC
My Revelation about Chaplaincy
(From the Christian Division to Global Chaplaincy)
❋
Our Values
Selfless service, revelation-based ministry, unity in diversity, integrity in calling, and unwavering commitment to the great commission of our Lord Jesus Christ.
✦
Our Mission
ICRMC exists to rescue believers from the bondage and division caused by denominational barriers, raising chaplains who proclaim the undivided gospel of Jesus Christ across every nation, institution, and social frontier.
◎
Our Vision
A global community of chaplains united beyond denominational walls — serving hospitals, schools, prisons, military, and communities with one gospel, one spirit, and one purpose.
The Root of Division
I have found out that most of these problems — divisions and confusions — which, if you look closely, are caused by the selfish interest of some so-called ministers and Christians. We see a lack of revelation; and when you don't have a revelation of the Word of God, you come up with your own belief. I also discovered that ignorance is another major problem that needs to be checked among Christians. These people come up with selfish interest because everybody wants to see himself as being right. These are the reasons we see different denominations, groups, and organizations come up.
When a breakaway spirit catches up with a man or a group of people, they break away from where they are to start their own church or ministry. Many claim they discovered that things are not the way they should be in their ministry, church, or denomination — but most of these claims, the spirit behind them, is a breakaway spirit and inordinate ambition. When one has inordinate ambition, he breaks away, and then you start seeing denominations here and there — everybody being a founder of a church without God calling him to start a ministry. He must have his own church. From there he becomes a general overseer of a group of churches and ministers. Inordinate ambition. Breakaway spirit.
In my own little way to preach the gospel, I keep understanding that of all the religious groups I have heard of, read of, and seen, where you have much confusion and division is within Christendom. The highest cause of the above problem is inordinate ambition — all coming up from selfish interest.
A Call Beyond My Borders
At first, I never gave kudos to chaplaincy based on the background where I came from. What people made us understand: "anything they, their leaders or prophets didn't start — they are not of God." But a man may not be involved in all. God may call you into one area or two areas. You do that. That does not mean the areas you are not involved in are of the devil.
The time came when a friend (a minister), from his activities as a chaplain officer, triggered me — which God confirmed — to get into chaplaincy. Chaplaincy will give you another or a higher platform to preach this gospel. But before this time, God had asked me to work with different denominations, ministries, ministers, Christians, and unbelievers — to bring souls to Christ, to let people know His mind and will. I obeyed Him.
I started working with different ministers and denominations — not only concentrating on those who have the same belief in what I believe. (Mal. 4:5–6, Rev. 10:7) When I launched into this mandate from God, there was much criticism from those in the same faith with me; they started speaking against me through different social media and different programs. Since I knew God led me, I went ahead. No matter what my critics or haters say about me and what I am doing, I don't look back as far as God approves it. So I continued soldiering on.
My Journey into Chaplaincy
Then along the line, God led me to be a member of a chaplain organization (CIIC/ICSC), where I started working and operating as a chaplain officer. By the grace of God, in the organization I went into, God used me to support and raise the hands of the leaders and to see that it succeeds. Along the line I was made the Lagos 3 State Commandant as a Colonel. From there, I rose to the rank of Brigadier General.
I was involved in many committees in this chaplaincy organization. The International Vice President / African Commandant of the organization saw the grace of God on me and appointed me as the SSA on Mobilization and Expansion with the rank of Major General. God used me to open many commands of the organization in different parts of Nigeria and beyond — because when I believe in a cause, I do my best to stand and support it.
When I was no longer seeing the purpose for which God led me to be in the organization, I stepped aside — but God told me I must continue His work as a chaplain officer to help my ministry and others. I now humbly resigned and started searching for other chaplain organizations where I could continue my work. God, who is in heaven, is my witness: I never had in mind to be a founder or a leader of any chaplaincy organization.
The Formation of ICRMC
In my search, I came across many chaplain organizations, nationally and internationally, that God never approved me to join. In continuation of this search, one thing or the other led to the formation of our organization — International Christian Rescue Missionary Chaplaincy (ICRMC). The footsteps of the righteous is ordered by God — Psalms 37:23.
It was just God's grace. Before I joined the chaplain organization, I never knew there was anything like rank, post, or whatever. I was only there to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and help the needy. God said, "The mission I'm sending you to be a chaplain must be fulfilled."
We started along the line, moving here and there. As we walked together in the formation of the organization, the person who was moving with me at first as the International President — when I told him of the idea of this chaplaincy — said he doesn't have any idea and he doesn't have the strength to work. "I will be the Grand Commander General." "While he international president" he said, I said "Wow! the whole world." As we went ahead, he chilled out because our ideas did not agree concerning chaplaincy. I prefer to stand with God's mandate (revelation) to preach the gospel and do charitable work — not to make money and wealth. But surely God will reward His servant. (Hebrews 11:6) No man that worships and serves God ends up in shame or unrewarded.
Based on the above, that was how the mantle of leadership as the International President fell on me.
Why Chaplaincy?
I want to use this opportunity to tell believers that a chaplaincy organization is a platform that can help Christians reach out beyond the level they are reaching out as ministers and believers. The last commandment Christ gave us, in Matthew 28, verse 19 to the end of that chapter: "Go into the world, preach the gospel, baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, and teach them." That means every Christian is expected to preach the gospel — not only the priest, not only the ministers. It is a command given to all: "Go ye into the world."
But Christians today are so lazy. They feel preaching the gospel is meant for the five-fold ministers alone. The minister is there to do the work, and we must join them in the work — to preach the gospel, reach out to unbelievers, and build up those we can. Every Christian is a Christian soldier — a soldier of the Cross. (2 Tim. 2:3)
Chaplaincy is a paramilitary organization; their work is more of spiritual and also helping the needy — simply defined as priests/clergy in uniform.
A Growing Mandate
By God's grace, when we started, within a very short time we were able to spread to different countries and continents. We have established commands in regions, states, districts, divisions, areas, etc., in some countries. In most of these places we have our offices.
By the time you look through this, we are spreading fast in Nigeria, in Africa, in Europe, in America, in Asia, in Australia, and in other parts of the world. And all I will tell you — check my history.
My Calling
By calling, I am an Apostle. If I visit a church to do the work of a teacher, you will call me a teacher. If you come to our church and see the settings, you will call me a pastor. If I'm in the field for a crusade, you will call me an evangelist. In a prayer meeting, God uses me to reveal things — you will call me a prophet.
In conclusion, ministers and Christians who have followed up my ministry say I have a full compact unit of God's calling and gift. A Bishop in South-South Nigeria introduces me as a man with multiple anointing. Ministers in different programs came to the conclusion to call me "Papa, subdue and take dominion." In short, I am your humble soldier — Brother George C. John.
The Ministries God Gave Me
Then God used me to establish churches, diverse churches, and ministers — helping them spiritually, physically, financially, materially, or otherwise. Though I say this by God's grace, not boasting — but Paul said, "Let me talk like a fool." I know the full compact unit of God's calling and gift I have in me. Now I do this to see that the gospel spreads — not to concentrate in my church or among those who are in the same faith with me.
We have our church — Final Exodus Bride Tabernacle. God gave me a ministry — George Chukwuma John Apostolic Outreach, a non-denominational evangelical ministry of reconciliation and restoration. By the grace of God, I am the General Overseer of our church and the Director or leader of the ministry.
In our church, we go much into doctrinal matters. But in the ministry, I carry along all believers and all ministers. We flow as we come together. For I believe that revelation is progressive. You may not know this today, but along the line, God reveals it to you. So, the motto of the ministry God has given me is "non-denominational evangelical ministry of reconciliation and restoration" I flow with all to bring heavenly bound souls to Christ 1 Corinthians 9 vs 18 - 24, the ministry God has given me is open to all denominations.
At the same time, God has given the grace to my wife and me, and from time to time we have been involved in charitable activities. We help individuals, families, churches, and ministers — spiritually, financially, physically, materially, or otherwise. This has been my nature. So we have been running under the ministry, which we tagged the Impact Life Project; but later we formed and registered the Apostle George and Patricia Impact Life Foundation, which is to reach out to the needy, to help the community and people at large.
Our chaplaincy is to bring Christians — no matter what you believe — to reach out to all, not basing on church or anything, but to reach out to Christians and unbelievers, to those who are the lost sheep of God, to bring them to Christ, teach them the truth, get into churches, ministries, and denominations to let them know things about God, help build and raise ministers, and help people. (Matt. 28:19–20) In other words: preach the gospel, which is the first thing; and two, help the needy in the charitable area.
A Life of Rescue
I, by the grace of God, partook and fought in the Biafra–Nigeria war. I was a young man then, but now an aged man in my middle 70s. During the war, I was in 52 Brigade under 14 Division.
It has been my nature — people who are in trouble, to help them, to rescue them. I am ready even to give my life. Only God's grace has kept me till date. If somebody is drowning in the sea, I am ready to get in and do my best to save that person. If there is a problem anywhere — when people have matters, marital matters — even as a small boy then, I would want to help out. So to help and rescue have been part of me. And to help the government, I have been in the government of my people — being president of organizations, being helpful to organizations.
These things really triggered me, and I can see God has given me this gift. When it comes to making peace and reconciling people to one another, it has been there; it has been in me, and I see it bearing fruit in my church and ministry. Then I got the leading from God to be a chaplain officer to bring the above and others into fulfilment — He said, "In a Chaplain organization, you will go higher, because they will give you an open door to the government, military, whatever, to operate and reach out to people — more than just being a minister." So as a minister, if you come up with a Chaplain organization, run it yourself".
Our Values
We are non-denominational. We welcome every denomination. It is a non-political organization. It is a non-tribalistic organization. It is a non-selfish organization. Our organization is open to only Christians — whether you are a minister or not, since you are a Christian, you are welcome.
By the grace of God, we have been able to open commands, and we are still opening commands. I really thank God for the organization where I first tested chaplaincy; it aroused my interest. At least I gained something — the interest to be a chaplain officer in me grew up from there. I thank God, and I thank the leader and all.
A Word to Ministers & Christians
I am not saying I am perfect — no, very far from that. I am struggling and praying that God perfects me. But if you tell me you are a Christian and you are living a life unworthy of the gospel, I will tell you: you are not a Christian. You should do your best while you work unto perfection.
If a minister is still involved in idolatry, adultery, stealing, lying, deceit, homosexuality, covetousness, wickedness, inordinate ambition — you are only preaching because of money, because of wealth, because of the name you will make. You are not ready to pay the price; you are not ready to go the extra mile. I wonder what type of Christian you are, because if I look at the Bible, I see Paul talking in 2 Corinthians 11:10–33 — how he paid the price, went the extra mile, and soldiered on as a soldier of the Cross.
Today, ministers are not ready to fast. They are not ready to pay the price and go the extra mile because of their laxity — they fail to pay the price in private, behind the mountain — yet they expect God to manifest in public. When they don't see God's manifestation, they now go in search of power behind the door, faking and arranging miracles, signs, and wonders. May God help us.
A Call to Join
We are still recruiting officers. I am still urging people: you may have tested other chaplain organizations; maybe they have failed you. But I know and promise — if you come to be part of us, you will not be disappointed.
I did not start it or come up with the idea of this chaplaincy. I told you — it is God that led me to it. When you are coming, don't come because of what you will gain, but what you will do for Christ. Because many, when they want to be in the ministry or join an organization for Christ, their first question is "what shall be my gain?" — that is a selfish interest. Do the work of God. God said, "Go into the world and preach the gospel." But I want to tell you that no man serves and worships God that ever ended in shame. But the most important thing there is your soul.
I tell you, in the book of Matthew chapter 6, verse 33: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things shall be added to you." Let's work together to achieve, irrespective of your denomination, ministry, church, or belief. Open up your mind.
When we come together, we are not here to talk about any church or any man's doctrine. We are here to talk about Jesus. We have a lot to preach, a lot to put in order and follow. Get people into Christ — along the line, other things will follow. (1 Corinthians 9:14–27)
By the grace of God, as time goes on, we will be organizing crusades, revivals, ministers' meetings, and prayer meetings, and supporting churches in different ways — spiritually, physically, financially, materially, etc. — in preaching the gospel, in running the church, in building the church, and supporting churches. We also have a program to teach and train ministers and workers in the body of Christ.
All you need for now is to register and pay for your uniform and insignia kit. The organization is not asking for money or materials from officers. Although if any person or body desires to voluntarily support and contribute — spiritually, physically, financially, materially, and otherwise — it is welcomed. Just be a member. We tell you how to operate. We work together. Help ourselves, help ministers, help churches — and God will bless you.
If I have other things to say, I will. God bless you for now.
.....a call for unified, selfless gospel proclamation.
The History of Chaplaincy in Nigeria & Worldwide
A unique ministry serving as a bridge between spiritual and secular institutions — offering pastoral care in the military, hospitals, prisons, schools, and other public sectors.
I. Introduction
Chaplaincy is a unique ministry that serves as a bridge between spiritual and secular institutions, offering pastoral care in places such as the military, hospitals, prisons, schools, and other public sectors. The history of chaplaincy dates back centuries and has evolved from religious service in the military to multifaceted roles in today's society.
II. Global History of Chaplaincy
1. Origins in Early Christianity
The term "Chaplain" is derived from the Latin word "Cappellanus", meaning "keeper of the cloak." It originated from the story of Saint Martin of Tours (4th Century), a Roman soldier who cut his military cloak in half to give to a beggar. The cloak (capella) became a revered relic, and those assigned to protect it were known as "capellani" or chaplains.
2. Medieval Europe (5th – 15th Century)
Chaplains were mainly associated with royalty and military units. They served in royal courts, accompanying kings and nobles to war to offer spiritual support.
3. The Military Chaplaincy (16th – 18th Century)
Formal military chaplaincy began in European armies (e.g., British, French, and Prussian armies). The Church of England officially appointed chaplains to serve soldiers during wars. Chaplains also served during the Napoleonic Wars and American Civil War, ministering to soldiers on the battlefield.
4. 20th Century Development
In World Wars I and II, chaplains played vital roles in supporting troops emotionally and spiritually. Hospitals, prisons, and universities began recognizing chaplains as essential to care for mental and spiritual health. The United Nations, Red Cross, and other humanitarian organizations institutionalized chaplaincy in relief and peacekeeping operations.
5. Chaplaincy in Modern Times
Today, chaplains serve in:
Military and law enforcement
Prisons and correctional centers
Hospitals and hospices
Universities and schools
Corporate and industrial sectors
Emergency services and disaster zones
Chaplaincy has become ecumenical and interfaith, including Christian, Muslim, Jewish, and secular chaplains worldwide.
III. The History of Chaplaincy in Nigeria
1. Colonial Era (Pre-1960)
Chaplaincy in Nigeria traces its roots to British missionary and military activities. The British colonial army included chaplains who ministered to troops and colonial administrators. Early mission schools, hospitals, and leprosy centers in Nigeria were served by missionaries who acted in chaplain-like roles.
2. Post-Independence Era (1960s – 1980s)
With the Nigerian military's growing autonomy, Christian and Muslim chaplains were integrated into the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Air Force. The establishment of chaplaincy directorates within the Nigerian armed forces provided spiritual care to servicemen and their families.
3. Emergence of Civilian Chaplaincy (1990s – Present)
Chaplaincy expanded beyond the military to include:
Prison Chaplaincy (Correctional Services)
Hospital and Health Chaplaincy
School Chaplaincy
Corporate/Workplace Chaplaincy
Disaster Response and Emergency Chaplaincy
Many faith-based and interdenominational organizations began to train and ordain chaplains for national service.
4. Formalization and Training
Chaplaincy training institutions were established in various states in Nigeria. Organizations such as:
Nigerian Chaplain Corps
Rescue and Emergency Chaplain Corps
Royal Chaplain Corps International
Christian Chaplains Corps of Nigeria
International Christian Chaplains Association (ICCA-Nigeria Chapter)
World United Chaplain Corps & Rescue Mission (WUCCRM)
International Christian Rescue Missionary Chaplaincy (ICRMC)
These bodies provide theological, psychological, and emergency response training to prospective chaplains.
5. Role in National Development
Chaplains in Nigeria serve in:
Peacekeeping missions
Disaster relief
Moral and ethical counseling in schools and public service
Rehabilitation in correctional facilities
Youth and leadership development
Law enforcement support and traffic management (in some paramilitary collaborations)
IV. Current Status of Chaplaincy in Nigeria and Worldwide
A. Nigeria
Chaplaincy is increasingly being recognized and professionalized. Many chaplains now hold ranks, badges, and uniforms in line with paramilitary structure. Collaboration with government institutions is increasing in areas of trauma counseling, peacekeeping, and security sensitization.
B. Worldwide
Chaplaincy is now recognized as a distinct professional discipline. Universities offer degrees in Pastoral Care, Clinical Chaplaincy, and Spiritual Counseling. Chaplains are vital to humanitarian agencies, crisis intervention, and global mental health campaigns.
1. Involvement of Civilians in Chaplaincy
Chaplaincy at first was made for military men, but along the line the need for men who are not in the military arose, to enable chaplaincy to get to wider ground — e.g., hospital and health chaplaincy, school chaplaincy, prison chaplaincy (correctional services), corporate/workplace chaplaincy, religious chaplaincy, market chaplaincy, disaster response & emergency chaplaincy.
N.B: To achieve & reach out to more people, many denominations, ministers, churches, and spiritual leaders began to raise, train & ordain chaplain officers for international & national services.
2. Mobilization, Expansion & Training
Institutions for the training of chaplain officers started coming up.
3. Chaplain Organisations Springing Up
Chaplain organisations are springing up in different countries and parts of the world to achieve the purpose of chaplaincy. Though many have come up based on selfish interest, notwithstanding, many chaplain organisations in the world are doing a good job.
4. Biblical Bases for Chaplaincy
Matthew 25:36
Isaiah 61:1–3
Luke 9:14–17
From the desk of the IP/GCG of ICRMC
5. Importance of Chaplaincy
Many Christians are ignorant of the importance of chaplaincy. If you have the spirit to obey God's commandment (Mark 16:15), you will know that chaplaincy is very important to achieve the last commandment our Lord gave to us. It bridges the spirit of denominations, segregation, and divisions among Christians. It is a platform by which believers from different denominations and ministries come together to propagate the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. It breaks the walls of division caused by denominational spirit, to unite believers and ministers to work together in love and unity. Every Christian, minister is expected to be a chaplain officer. Every Christian, every minister is not a chaplain officer, but every chaplain officer is a minister to fulfil our Lord's last commandment before He left. Mark 16vs15. Godly raised chaplaincy being a paramilitary organization to restore discipline which the Christian body has lost as it looks at the disciplinary, obedience and loyalty of a military officer it brings this to the scripture to make believers to have the above in their life's, churches, denominations. Don't forget all Israelites are expected to be soldiers, trained and prepared for warfare; our spiritual warfare though not canal but spiritual to the pulling down of stronghold. 2 Corinthians 10 vs 3 - 6 you must balance your life spiritually and physically as a Christian.
6. Challenges and Future of Chaplaincy
— Challenges
Some government authorities do not know the importance of chaplaincy; as such, they don't give them the recognition they need.
The above has denied chaplain organisations freedom of operation in such countries.
Lack of funds & materials for smooth running of the organisation.
Lack of labourers.
Lack of support from individuals, families, organisations & nations has helped to downplay their successes.
Lack of understanding on what chaplaincy is all about by many, thereby making many not to be part of it.
Many people, authorities, and governments fight against chaplain organisations, thinking they are fighting for God.
— Future Outlook
Need for government recognition, regulation & standardization.
Inclusion of chaplains in national emergencies and peace building missions.
Introduction, expansion into institutions and orientation programs.
Individuals, denominations and governments giving the right hand of fellowship to chaplain organisations to operate freely & fully.
In conclusion, chaplaincy globally has grown from glory to glory, from a humble beginning and God's leadership, to a strategic ministry which has touched lives and different sectors of society. As the world continues to navigate social, economic & spiritual challenges, trained, sincere and spirit-filled chaplains will play an essential role in healing the nation.
7. Prayer for Chaplaincy
Oh Lord, we thank you for raising the chaplaincy.
Lord, forgive founders and officers of different chaplaincy organisations, for all have sinned and come short of your glory.
Lord, let your Spirit lead our chaplain leaders and officers to achieve the purpose of chaplaincy.
Lord, protect and preserve the chaplain officers & organisation.
Lord, raise sincere and Holy Spirit-filled leaders and officers for our great organisation.
God, give chaplain leaders and officers the wisdom and the anointing to operate as chaplain officers.
My Father, my Father, provide all that the chaplain leaders, officers & organisation need for the execution of the job.
Lord, lead all to the expected end.
IN JESUS' MIGHTY NAME I PRAY, GOD BLESS YOU!!!
